I believe that childbirth is a normal, beautiful experience that can be empowering and transformative. Too often in birth, the focus is on the baby, but it is essential that we realize that when a baby is born, a mother is also born. Every laboring woman deserves to be surrounded by people who believe in her abilities, and support her decisions as she makes the transition into motherhood. As a doula, I am blessed to support a mother through this transition.
