Gina Martell RN, BSN, CLD:
With a passion for birth and supporting fellow women, Gina comes to every birth with the goal of bringing an aura of peace and love to the birth of every mother she has the honor to support. By empowering women to be informed about their choices and about the normality and beauty of birth, she hopes to help every mother in her care to have the birth they always hoped for.
Gina is a mother of two beautiful daughters who were born by cesarean section and hospital VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Cesarean). Through her own birth experiences, she realized how invaluable labor support is in all birth settings. Because of this, she was inspired to enter the birth services field, and is now professionally trained and certified as a CAPPA Labor Doula (CLD). She is also a registered nurse (RN) with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Cincinnati, currently working at Good Samaritan Hospital as a nurse in the Obstetrical Float pool (serves Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, and Postpartum patients). Gina is currently working on her masters degree in midwifery to become a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). Gina offers every mother emotional and physical support throughout her birth, in addition to evidence based information throughout her pregnancy. She believes that the key to a wonderful birth is a firm belief in birth as a natural and normal process; this can only be achieved if the mother is informed about the choices she makes in pregnancy and birth. Gina is honored to have found her passion as a labor doula and obstetrical nurse, and is blessed to have the opportunity to support women through a transformative moment in their lives.
